Dr Steen is presenting at the National Association of Play Therapy on October 17th!
Dr. LeAnne Steen and Dr. Kimberly King will be presenting on the "Guardians of Play: Tech-Smart Protection for Children in Play Therapy".
This presentation will discuss specific themes and play behaviors in play therapy that may indicate a child’s dangerous use of technology. These themes were gathered from an extensive questionnaire sent to APT members. Play therapists will be able to identify strategies for addressing therapeutic themes that emerge during sessions. Resources to support parents will also be provided. Dr. LeAnne Steen hosted two workshops on Saturday, December 6th! The first workshop, Trauma Informed Play Therapy for Children and Adolescents (and Adults!), will be from 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Then, she will be presenting a second workshop for Professionals and New Professionals: Expressive Arts Play Therapy Supervision for Facilitating Clinical Insight & Supervisee Wellness. The second workshop will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. These workshops will be at Loyola's Broadway Activities Center (BAC) at 501 Pine St, New Orleans, LA 70118.
